November 15, 2007 -- Gaucho Software is pleased to announce support for Apple's Mac OS X Leopard in Seasonality 1.5. Seasonality provides users with a high quality display of current and past weather information including 7 day forecasts, satellite imagery, graphs, astronomical information, and a weather journal. Today, Seasonality becomes one of the first applications to support resolution independence under Leopard, fully preparing it for higher resolution displays when they become available. Seasonality 1.5 adds new features and several improvements upon existing functionality.
In addition to Leopard support, Seasonality 1.5 includes a location database with thousands of updates. Population data is now included for over 10,000 cities, resulting in more cities marked on the satellite image. Over 1,000 locations have been updated with more precise latitude and longitude information to improve the accuracy of weather forecasts. Additionally, when the temperature exceeds the forecasted high or low, Seasonality now notifies you by highlighting this new higher or lower temperature. A new contextual menu was added to the satellite image, so now users can check when the imagery was last updated (radar images are updated every 10 minutes!) and refresh the data at will.
In addition to these and other new features, Seasonality 1.5 includes speed optimizations when accessing the weather database and several stability improvements. Some key features of Seasonality 1.5 include:
- 7 day forecasts worldwide.
- Radar images showing current precipitation in the U.S., Guam and Puerto Rico.
- Satellite images showing cloud cover worldwide.
- Graphs of previous temperature, dewpoint, wind speed, wind direction, air pressure, and humidity.
- Daily sunrise and sunset times, moon-rise and moon-set times, and the current moon phase.
- The ability to monitor any number of custom locations, or choose between over 34,000 standard locations.
Seasonality requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later and is priced at $24.95 after a free 30 day trial. For more information about Seasonality, contact Mike Piatek-Jimenez at Gaucho Software:

December 14, 2006 -- For almost 2 years, Seasonality has provided users with a top-notch display of current and past weather information including 7 day forecasts, satellite imagery, graphs, astronomical information, and a weather journal. Today, Gaucho Software (www.gauchosoft.com) is pleased to announce the fourth major update to Seasonality. Seasonality 1.4 adds several new features and improvements on existing functionality.
Seasonality 1.4 includes an extensive database of over 34,000 locations worldwide, but if that isn't enough, users can now add their own custom locations. Just pick a nearby weather station, select a time zone, and Seasonality does the rest. Users can further customize their locations using a new location info panel. Need to modify a location's position a little? Just adjust the latitude and longitude values and Seasonality will automatically update it's forecast and other statistics.
Also new in Seasonality 1.4 is a moon information display, including moon phase, moon-rise and moon-set times. Seasonality integrates this information with the sunrise and sunset times, so it's all in one place as a quick reference. Moon phase is accurate to the hour, and the graphical display gives users a good idea of what the moon actually looks like in the sky.
In addition to these and other new features (check out the mouse/trackpad scrolling support!), Seasonality 1.4 includes several speed and stability improvements. Some key features of Seasonality 1.4 include:
