Gaucho Software is pleased to introduce the Monitoring Toolkit (MTK), an open source plugin architecture for monitoring CPU, Memory, Network and Disk usage. This plugin architecture is a the very core of Dash Monitors 1.2, and will eventually be used in XRG as well. Since code is separated into plugins, it will be easy for both Gaucho Software and third party developers to release MTK plugins in the future. View informative icons demonstrating what weather is coming your way over the next 7 days. Use radar images to check out where it is raining or snowing. Compare this month's weather conditions to last month's, or even last year's. Dash Monitors 1.1
Dash Monitors 1.1 preview was released this morning. Version 1.1 includes two new graph modes: text and graphical. From the project web page: The text view mode shows a very simple text view of the resources being used and is beneficial because it takes very few system resources to generate the statistics. The graphical view mode, while taking more CPU resources to draw all the monitors, displays a nice interface to what is happening on the system. Text summaries are provided with most of the monitors in graphical mode to provide the exact data along with the graphical approximations.
Check out the preview release and post suggestions for future functionality to the Forums.

A Note from the Founder...
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to a new company called Gaucho Software. I have been developing software for the Macintosh the past two years, most of which was spent working on an open source project called XRG. After talking with other Macintosh entrepreneurs at the O'Reilly MacOS X Conference last year, I decided that it was time to take things to the next level. Starting this summer, I will be working full time to create world class software for the MacOS X platform.
Gaucho Software also is available to do consulting work for other companies or individuals. I have plenty of experience in desktop application development on the Mac and Windows platforms, along with experience with database-backed web development. If you are interested in hiring me as a consultant, check out the Gaucho Software Consulting page.
Again, welcome to the company, and keep checking in for updates and new software releases.
Mike Piatek-Jimenez
President, Gaucho Software
